NARRATIVE SUMMARY

1-5 July 1969 - HMM-364  flew  813 sorties  for  194.9  flight  hours,  lifting  94.1 tons of cargo,  1,733 troops/passengers,  and expended 400 rounds of  .50 caliber ordnance.  Forty-two  Medevac missions carried  28 Emergency,  29 Priority and 14 Routine  evacuees  in support of  the following  Operations and  Units:  Okla- homa Hills,  Pipestone Canyon,  Victory Dragon,  III MAF, 1st MarDiv, Mag-16 and  HMM-364.   Four  enemy fire incidents  were reported with  YK-2 receiving mortar fragments.

6-10 July 1969 - HMM-364  flew  830 sorties for  211.0 flight hours,  lifting 128.0 tons of  cargo,  1,270 troops/passengers and expended  700 rounds of  .50 caliber and 50 rounds of  5.56mm ordnance.  Thirty-three Medevac  missions carried 14 Emergency,  15 Priority,  and  41 Routine  evacuees in support  of the  following Operations  and   Units:   Oklahoma   Hills,  Pipestone  Canyon,  III  MAF,   1st MarDiv, MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Two enemy  fire incidents were reported  with no aircraft receiving hits.

11-15 July 1969 - HMM-364  flew  937 sorties for  219.0 flight hours,  lifting 85.8 tons of cargo,  2,012 troops/passengers,  and expended  650 rounds of .50 caliber and 280 rounds of  5.56mm ordnance.  Thirty-six Medevac  missions  carried  26 Emergency,  17 Priority  and  33 Routine  evacuees in  support of  the  following Operations  and  Units:  Oklahoma  Hills,  III MAF,  1st MarDiv,  MAG-16  and HMM-364.  Twenty-six enemy fire incidents  were reported  with  YK-5 receiving one hit.

16-20 July 1969 - HMM-364  flew  922 sorties for  217.6 flight hours, lifting  67.5 tons of cargo,  1,946 troops/passengers and expended 2,800 rounds of .50 caliber and  150 rounds of  5.56mm ordnance.  Fifty-five  Medevac  missions  carried 34 Emergency,  32 Priority and  34  Routine evacuees  in  support of  the  following Operations and Units:  Oklahoma Hills, Pipestone Canyon,  Victory Dragon, III MAF,  1st MarDiv,  MAG-16 and HMM-364.  Six  enemy  fire  incidents were re- ported with YK-11 receiving two hits.

21-26 July 1969 - HMM-364 flew 1,352 sorties for 312.5 flight hours,  lifting 22.8 tons of cargo, 2,421 troops/passengers and expending 1,550 rounds of .50 caliber ordnance.  Sixty-two Medevac  missions carried  52 Emergency,  42 Priority, and 27 Routine  evacuees in  support of  the following  Operations and  Units:  Okla- homa  Hills,  Victory Dragon,  III MAF,  1st MarDiv,  MAG-16 and  HMM-364. Four  enemy fire  incidents were  reported with  YK-1 receiving  five hits,  YK-20 receiving one hit, YK-11 receiving three hits and YK-9 receiving four hits.

27 July 1969 - HMM-364  flew  257 sorties for  71.1 flight hours, lifting 47.0 tons of cargo,  370  troops/passengers  and expending  600 rounds of  .50 caliber ord- nance.   Fourteen  Medevac  missions  carried  11 Emergency,  11 Priority and  3 Routine  evacuees in support of  the following Operations and Units:  Oklahoma Hills,  III MAF,  1t MarDiv,  MAG-16 and  HMM-364.  One enemy  fire incident was  reported with  YK-10  receiving an  intense volume  of hostile  fire which re- sulted in Strike Damage of the aircraft and eleven KIA.

28-31 July 1969 - HMM-364  flew  634 sorties for 169.9  flight hours, lifting  99.0 tons of  cargo,  824 troops/passengers and expending 1,000 rounds of  .50 caliber ordnance.  Forty-nine  Medevac missions carried  15 Emergency, 38 Priority and 52 Routine evacuees in support of the following Operations and Units:  Oklaho- ma Hills,  Pipestone Canyon,  Victory Dragon,  III MAF,  1st MarDiv,  MAG-16 and  HMM-364.  Three  enemy  fire  incidents were  reported with no aircraft re- ceiving hits.

To recap, HMM-364  flew 5,745 sorties for 1,396.0 flight hours, lifting 544.2 tons of  cargo,  10,576  troops/passengers,  291 Medevac missions  carried  180 Emer- gency, 184 Priority, and maintained an average aircraft availability of 13.

Intelligence

The Squadron Intelligence Section  received and recorded  intelligence  informa- tion  on  a daily  basis for  adjacent  and higher  headquarters  through pilot de- briefs, spot reports and intelligence documents.

During this reporting period there were  46 enemy fire incidents  directed against squadron aircraft which resulted in 6 aircraft being  hit with hostile fire and  one aircraft being totally destroyed.

The HMM-364 Squadron area received negative incoming hostile fire during this reporting period.

A narrative summary of  this section's activities is as follows:  attended  briefings at  higher  headquarters,  conducted  liaison  with  adjacent  units,  briefing  and debriefing  pilots,  presented a weekly summary of  the general enemy  situation, and the routing of messages and documents of  intelligence value to  appropriate sections and personnel.
